Columbia Model United Nations in New York VI (CMUNNY)

When: October 6-9, 2011

Where: Columbia's Campus in New York City 

Summary: With a global focus featuring every region in the world and committees ranging from the Post-Revolutionary Egyptian Cabinet to the International Nautical and Coastal Entrepreneur Symposium at Trinidad, 1717 (read: Pirates) to an Indian Democratic Alliance Convention, it promises to hold something for everyone just like NYC.

National Collegiate Security Conference XXXIX (NCSC)

When: October 27-30, 2011

Where: Bethesda, Maryland 

Summary: NCSC is a fast-paced, crisis driven conference with its finger on the pulse of International Relations. Fun, affordable, and a great conference for beginners, this conference also has enough depth and a fast pace to keep even the most grizzled MUN veterans involved and having a great time. Committee higlights include the Red Cross Board of Directors 1939, the International Criminal Court -Trial of Kim Jong-Il, and a joint crisis committee on the Sikh separatist movement in India.

Duke International Security Conference (DISCon)

When: November 11-13, 2011

Where: Duke's Campus in Durham, North Carolina 

Summary: Duke's International Security Conference as a whole, and you will have to deal with the challenges posed by other committees. Whether you are a high-ranking member of the US military, or an Al-Qaeda organizer furthering your goals, or a member of Egypt's post-revolutionary council struggling to construct a new government, DISCon's Middle East crisis simulation will be a challenging, yet awesome change of pace from normal Model UN.
