UVa Tours
Tours of the Grounds of the University of Virginia are conducted by the University Guide Service and allow delegates and faculty advisors alike an opportunity to explore the beautiful Grounds of the University. Groups are given a chance to experience a dual historical and admissions tour, taking in the history of Mr. Jefferson's academical village while receiving information valuable to prospective applicants to the University. For more information, contact Alex Webb, Undersecretary General for Business and Public Relations.

Monticello Tours
In order to take advantage of our location, schools are encouraged to visit Monticello, the home of the founder of the University of Virginia and our nation's third president, Thomas Jefferson. Monticello is the only home in America on the World Heritage List of the United Nations and a not-to-be missed attraction for visitors to Charlottesville. For information about tours, visit the Monticello website.

Faculty Advisor Events
VAMUN is very attuned to the needs of faculty advisors and chaperones who accompany delegates to VAMUN, and we offer activities and facilities for the adults of each delegation. Jefferson Hall will serve as the Sponsors' Lounge for the weekend, where refreshments will be served and where sponsors can always find a Secretariat member to answer questions and address any situations that may arise. Breakfast will be served in the Sponsors' Lounge on Saturday morning.

Additionally, VAMUN staff will offer several workshops to sponsors over the weekend, including a mock committee session and a presentation on helping to prepare delegates for conference success.

Delegate Dance
On Saturday night, VAMUN will host a special event for delegates to relax and meet their fellow students and staffers in an informal, relaxed setting. Held in University facilities, the delegate dance will be a chance for students to celebrate after a weekend of very intense debate, as well as an opportunity to meet their committee staff in a casual setting.

International Relations Organization
VAMUN is hosted by the University's own International Relations Organization, a student-run group dedicated to promoting international affairs in the University and Charlottesville communities. In addition to VAMUN, IRO also hosts VICS, a college-level simulation conference, and produces the Wilson Journal of International Affairs, an IRO-created research journal, featuring undergraduate research in the field of politics. VAMUN is staffed entirely by members of IRO, and students will have plenty of opportunities to meet and interact with the college students of IRO throughout the weekend.
